The “How We Use Information” section of this Privacy Policy explains how and why we use your personal information. Our 5 year daughter didn’t go to Kindergarten because of the way her birthday fell. We decided to get the Homer app to help her get prepared for kindergarten this year. She does about an hour and day and really enjoys it. The only thing I wish was that they would do is create a way for parents to check the status of there child’s pathway.
The app is great when it wants to work I've had it for almost a month and my daughter tries everyday but it's only worked twice. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear some of the content on HOMER Learn & Grow did not resonate with you. You all charged me for service that I didn't use. I canceled the free trial before it ran out and y'all still charged me $10.
Great App but too many bugs lately
I cancelled my subscription before the trial period to be over and continue to be charged. You can bet your bottom dollar that this program is THE right thing to get for your child. THIS is a wise use of screen time for your little one. –of this program for a bunch of reasons, but here are my tops.
Technology is transforming the education sector. Creating an engaging, gamified product experience without sacrificing educational value is a challenge. Through close collaboration with Thoughtworks, charming characters, rich narratives and original illustrations came to life. Rigorous testing with children and parents was crucial and resulted in a stunning, easy to use interface.

For about 15 years, technology has been a part of our lives, so I have seen a lot. Activity books, coloring pages, and card sets for playful practice. Our Explore Kits expand on the skills your child is building with the Learn and Grow app.
I would enjoy this app more if I were able to control how much time is spent, if any, on the music video/art/game sections rather than on the path. My son has found those sections and now would rather do those than the path which makes the Homer App not worth it because he isn’t learning which is the point of the app. With a time restriction or maybe earning time to play on those sections after doing a certain amount of path it would be better and more useful. It’s a great app except that you have to be connected to the internet to play.

Please note that you may be located in a jurisdiction where we are not obligated, or are unable, to fulfill a request. In such a case, your request may not be fulfilled. Seventy-two percent of top selling apps are targeted at preschoolers and elementary aged children but relatively few focus on reading skills. “Edutainment” apps are games with little learning value.
I have reviewed dozens and dozens and dozens of Early Childhood-focused programs and resources. The application incorporates drawing, voice recording, stories, songs, and more, along with traditional exercises. The only thing that is an issue is that you need to have wifi or data (4G/LTE) to use Homer. The only thing I would change are the videos.
I have been getting charged from here for almost a year. I will be contacting my bank and emailing this company for a full refund on every dime taken from me I accept a response or I will take this further. Whether your child is in preschool or not, and wherever your child is with knowing letters or numbers, this is worth your money. You can find posts on phonological awareness, explicit teaching of comprehension strategies, what parents should or should not say to emerging readers, and more over here on the blog. Explicit teaching just means that a teacher will teach sound and letter correspondences to children in a direct manner.
He has done the best reading ever with this program and we have gone through many programs trying to teach him to read. He is in 2nd grade but so far has been more of a Kindergarten level reader but he has is gaining strides daily with Homer. I do wish it went higher in level for older kids struggling.

I have spent hours upon hours checking out every aspect of HOMER. Even though my kids are big kids now–17, 16, and 14 years! I still help and encourage and teach educators and parents. So I must know the latest and greatest in literacy technology.
